From 7,500 Feet to the Heart of the Industry: A Flutist’s Journey
There is a unique clarity that comes with living at 7,500 feet. From my home at the very peak of a mountain in the Himalayas, I look out over the mist-covered peaks—a backdrop that serves as my daily inspiration. Here, in the quietude of the mountains, I live with my family, grounded by tradition while connected to the global music industry through my state-of-the-art studio.

It is a profound honor to work from this peaceful sanctuary, delivering woodwind sessions for producers across the globe. From international projects to the diverse musical landscape of India, I find myself recording across a vast spectrum of genres, languages, and compositional styles. Whether it is a delicate meditation track produced entirely in-house or a complex contemporary score, I count it a blessing to do what I love from the place I call home.

The Best of Both Worlds: Shimla & The Metros
While the mountains offer me focus, the cities offer me connection. I spend a significant part of the year in Mumbai, often for long stretches, immersing myself in the city’s relentless creative energy.

These stints allow me to:

Collaborate in person with world-class talent and legendary studios.

Jam and Connect with producers, learning from their vision while contributing my own.

Perform Live, bringing the flute to the stage and engaging in real-time musical dialogue.

My journey also takes me into the heart of the South Indian film industries in Chennai and Hyderabad, as well as recording for vibrant regional markets like Punjab. Every language and every region requires a different "soul" from the flute, and I pride myself on adapting to those specific cultural nuances.

Precision Meets Artistry: The "Mobile Studio"
I believe that a performance is only as good as the signal chain that captures it. My commitment to quality is uncompromising, whether I am in my main studio or working from my high-end mobile rig.

My setup is built around the "Gold Standard" of audio:

Signal Chain: I utilize Rupert Neve Designs (RND) preamps to ensure every breath and nuance is captured with analog warmth and clarity.

The Kit: I carry a comprehensive "flute bouquet"—a toolkit ranging from nimble, high-pitched whistles to massive, deep-toned bass flutes that provide hauntingly beautiful textures.

Technical Know-How: Beyond the gear, it is the decades of experience in microphone placement and room acoustics that allow me to deliver "studio-accurate" files that producers can drop straight into their mixes.

The Craft: Adapting to the Vision
Every producer is different. Some grant me a "free hand" to improvise and create soundscapes; others come with a very specific, rigid creative vision. My goal is to cater to both with equal precision. I am constantly polishing my craft to ensure my work is more nuanced, more expressive, and delivered with the professional speed that modern production demands.

While I am deeply indulgent in composing ambient soundscapes and background scores, my focus remains clear: providing world-class producers with the most accurate, high-quality flute sessions possible.

It is a privilege to collaborate with the best musicians on the planet. If you are looking for a flute performance that carries the stillness of the mountains and the professional edge of the city, I look forward to our next collaboration.
